The effect here is so subtle that, when zoomed out, you do not notice the effect, but it is just enough to make the text stand out from the background.

You can move the text around with your mouse to change the placement, and you can also change the font and size of your text: Then, place your cursor where you would like to place your text, click, and type. When you are ready to add text, click on the Text tool, as shown below. Here, I have mine set to Multiply (which darkens the rectangle) at 16% opacity in order to blend the rectangle into my image: Experiment with various modes and opacities. You can change the Blending Mode and Opacity of your rectangle by selecting Layer 1, and then clicking on the drop down menu next to Blending Mode.
